First Day Minus One

We had a pretty uneventful journey down from Staffordshire today -  for me at least 'cos John was driving - and as we went past Redruth the sun finally came out and the sky turned blue very quickly. Hope that's an omen. We arrived in St Just at about 6 and found the Commercial Hotel.
St Just is an honest little working town and John, Mary and I had a quick walk around in the evening sun and checked out one of the other pub's in the square. (the one in the picture next the church). Decent beer too. The Minack Theatre is only just around the coast here and we found that St Just has a much more ancient 'Plen an Gwary' or 'Playing place' in the centre of town. This is a small amphitheatre, specifically for the performance of  Medieval Mystery plays and was used up until the 17th Century. Nice town.

We also decided that the wind should be in our favour tomorrow, although if still felt pretty cold. The forecast looks like tomorrow will be ok, but monday looks rubbish.

After a bit of debate we agreed on tomorrow's route and a place to meet Mary for lunch. We should be able to get to Tavistock by about 4 or 5 I'd say.

Here's the route - about 80 miles.

Nice dinner, nice hotel and the prospect of reasonable weather tomorrow. What could be better?
A good night's sleep perhaps.....
Probably a bit more material for tomorrow's blog. Goodight!
